Last night Josiel and I took Isaac out for his first time to go trick-or-treating. My sister and her kids came over to our house to hand out candy and stay with Belle, so we both could take Isaac out. Josiel has never wanted our kids to go trick-or-treating, but this year he let us do it, just as long as Isaac could dress-up as...yep, you guessed it, Superman. And he was an adorable Superman at that. Around 6 p.m. we got him all dressed up and head out. We start at our next door neighbor's house. Josiel rings the bell, oh, he even dressed up in his China clothes I got him when I went to Hong Kong, anyway our neighbor comes to the door and Isaac just stands there. I had to prompt him to say "trick-or-treat." He did and then just stood there again, like, okay, so now what. I helped him lift up his candy bucket, which was Batman's head, LOL, and then our neighbor gave him four or five candies. He told Isaac that he was the cutest superman he had ever seen. I had to agree. Isaac told him thanks, and we were off. Well, by the time we made it to the second house and rang the bell, when the lady comes to the door, Isaac immediately yells, "trick-or-treat," and lifts up his pail for her. He caught on fast. It was hilarious, he was very enthusiastic. We ended up stopping tfour tootsie pops, emptying his pail once and two hours later. Looking back on the evening, I don't know which one had more fun, Isaac or Daddy. But, what I do know is, that we now have enough candy at home to last us until next Halloween when Belle can join in the fun.
Belle did have fun with her Aunt Steph though and a good nap too! Belle has fun when she has free reign of the house when brother's not around. He keeps trying to pick her up and take her to his room to play with the toys in there. He says, "Come on Belle, come play my room, come on Belle." So when Brother's away, little girl likes to play!
I hope you and your family had as much fun as we did. Thanks for readin'. - Susie
